They say if you don’t set a goal then they are just dreams. For 12 years I’ve only been dreaming of losing weight (I know at 15 I wasn’t too terribly overweight but high school can be scary). As of January 9th I am 15 days into my 6 month goal to lose 60 pounds. I started this journey at 215 pounds (and on my petite 5’3” frame that is ungodly!). I am not “low-carbing” “low-fating” south beaching, Atkins-ing weight watchers-ing or any other type, just eating healthier and getting more MOVEMENT in my life. Here we go!
My home town is a humble place with big dreams and cracked side walks. The church bell still rings every day, tracking the sun through the sky and tolling out hours to a litany of songs. I wish very much to have it play something from the Allman Brothers or Lynyrd Skynyrd at 5 o’clock on Fridays but I imagine the ol’ die-hard’s would have something to say about that. At least, I guess, I would make the headlines!
